Why Work for Caroline County?
Caroline County has earned a strong reputation as a caring, family-friendly employer. The County offers competitive wages, excellent benefits, and is one of the few employers in the area still offering a traditional pension plan.

With positions in a variety of fields – from motor equipment operators, to emergency medical services, to information technology, and everything in between – we offer the chance for people with many different skills and interests to find meaningful, good paying jobs. Most of our employees live locally, so public service is also community service. Our employees enjoy the opportunity to contribute in ways that positively impact friends and neighbors and improve our local quality of life.

County employees have ample opportunities to pursue activities outside of work through generous personal and vacation leave. To promote a healthy workforce and community, employees receive health, life, and long-term disability insurance and have access to both sick leave and an innovative sick leave bank. The County also provides the opportunity for employees to purchase vision and dental insurance at affordable rates.

Understanding that employee wellness is critical to productivity, the County offers a formal Employee Assistance Program. This enables employees to access a wide variety of resources, including financial planning, legal assistance, and counseling. The County also provides educational assistance so employees can continue to increase their skills and knowledge and job-related training to take advantage of opportunities for promotion and advancement.

County employees are our most important resource and the foundation of the most efficient and effective local government in Maryland.
