The Commissioners Meeting
Who?
The Commissioners, County and allied agency staff, and you – the public.
What?
Meeting and Work Session agenda. Please note that agendas are subject to change until the time of convening.
When?
Commissioners Meetings are held every Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM. Meetings are sometimes cancelled due to holidays or other circumstances, so please check the schedule to confirm the meeting. A full calendar of the expected meeting dates is available here.
Where?
Caroline County Courthouse, 109 Market Street, Room 106, Denton, Maryland. There may be occasional advertised "on-the-road" meetings around the county, so check the schedule to confirm the location.
Why?
Open meetings are an important part of the democratic process. The Commissioners meetings are where all important decisions regarding your local government are made – from adopting new legislation to setting the budget.
How?
All residents are encouraged to attend Commissioners meetings. To facilitate citizen participation, there are open public comment periods at the beginning and end of each Commissioners meeting. However, most citizen concerns can be resolved without attending a meeting. If you have a question or concern, we encourage you to fill out this form or call our office at 410-479-0660. Our staff is committed to exceptional constituent services and will follow up with you within one business day.
Submit a comment for the public comment section of the agenda during the virtual meetings held as a result of COVID-19 here.
Agendas & Minutes
Agendas are available prior to the meetings. Minutes are available following approval.

What is the difference between a Meeting and a Work Session?
The Commissioners only take official action, vote, or hold legislative sessions during a Meeting. Work Sessions are an opportunity for the Commissioners to discuss issues in greater depth, meet with staff and partners for general updates, and focus on long-term decisions, rather than the day-to-day issues that confront the County. There are no ceremonial actions taken during Work Sessions (proclamations, commendations, etc.). There is also no designated public comment period during a Work Session. Public comment/participation during topic discussions at a Work Session are at the discretion of the President. All work sessions will be held in Open Session, unless the Commissioners vote to close a portion of the meeting under the authority of the Maryland Open Meetings Act.
