Self-Protection for First Responders is taught in two Modules, which are 4 hours each. Module 1 is Risk Management, which covers how to prevent, avoid, de-escalate and mitigate the potential for violent encounters. We cover preventative measures, verbal and non-verbal communication, de-escalation, liabilities of defending yourself, teamwork, escape options, positioning and more. Module 1 is a pre-requisite for taking Module 2. Module 2 is Threat Management and covers hands on response options when all other options have been exhausted and you must survive and escape a violent encounter. Stand up grappling, striking, ground fighting and weapons are covered in this module.  

Saturday, October 7^th 8:30 am- 4:30 pm at Ridgely VFC
