Jobs in EMS range from the basic Emergency Medical Technician to Paramedic. Becoming a basic Emergency Medical Technician requires 165 hours of classroom training and more than 100 hours of field experience before becoming licensed and cleared to provide care. Becoming a Paramedic requires many more hours of education and experience in order for an individual to become licensed.
